About the job
We are seeking an experienced Evening Legal Assistant to provide after-hours support across litigation, wealth management, and corporate practice areas. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
This position will primarily support litigation matters, including legal document preparation, discovery, and trial and hearing preparation. The ideal candidate has significant law firm litigation experience, advanced document-production skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment while working independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Litigation Support
  • Prepare, proofread, revise, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Organize, index, maintain, and file case materials.
  • Support discovery, including document productions, deposition preparation, and exhibit management.
  • Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including binders, exhibits, and logistics.
Corporate and Transactional Support
  • Prepare, revise, format, and proofread corporate and transactional documents.
  • Prepare signature packets and compile executed agreements.
  • Provide administrative support for corporate matters as needed.
Administrative and Operational Support
  • Provide after-hours coverage for attorney and client needs.
  • Format, style, proofread, and revise complex legal documents.
  • Prepare Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents or demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning advanced document-production processes.
  • Coordinate with daytime staff to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of work.
  • Collaborate with other evening team members to assess priorities and ensure time-sensitive assignments are completed appropriately.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Qualifications
  • At least five years of legal assistant experience, including significant litigation exposure.
  • Experience supporting corporate or transactional matters.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, including document styling, formatting, and redlining.
  • Experience using document management systems such as iManage or NetDocuments.
  • Familiarity with litigation-support tools and processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during evening hours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and problem-solving ability.
