
Overview
A leading US law firm is looking for a Private Credit Associate to join its New York office. The team advises private debt funds, direct lenders, and alternative asset managers on a broad range of credit and financing transactions. This is a strong platform for associates who want consistent exposure to sponsor-backed deals and complex credit structures within an established private capital practice.
Responsibilities
You will work on a variety of financing matters, including:
• Senior secured and unitranche financings
• Mezzanine and subordinated debt transactions
• Holdco and PIK facilities
• Asset-based and NAV financings
• Refinancings and recapitalisations
• Intercreditor arrangements and covenant negotiations
The role includes drafting and negotiating credit agreements and related documentation, managing due diligence, and working directly with clients and opposing counsel.
• The team works closely with the firm’s private equity, restructuring, and fund finance practices.
About You
• 3–8+ years’ experience in leveraged finance or private credit at a top US or international law firm
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements
• Familiarity with sponsor-backed transactions
• Experience representing private debt funds or direct lenders preferred
• Solid understanding of capital structures and intercreditor issues
• Admission to the New York Bar
