Marketing & Business Development Manager (IP)

Our client, a prestigious global law firm, is seeking a talented Marketing & Business Development Manager (Intellectual Property) to join a dynamic team supporting patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, and related IP practice areas. This role will work closely with regional IP leadership to implement business development plans, drive client engagement, and execute strategic marketing initiatives in line with global objectives. This role will be hybrid in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert and leader within the IP M&BD team, promoting best practices and supporting firm-wide initiatives.
• Collaborate with lawyers and M&BD colleagues on new business opportunities, pitch materials, proposals, and RFP responses.
• Develop and execute marketing campaigns, client events, and digital initiatives to raise the practice’s profile.
• Gather and analyze client feedback to inform business development strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with relevant industry associations and organizations to drive engagement.
• Manage M&BD planning, budgeting, and reporting for the Americas region.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.
• 5+ years of marketing and business development experience, ideally in legal or professional services.
•  Experience in intellectual property or technology/innovation highly desirable.
• Strong strategic, client-focused mindset with excellent communication and project management skills.
