
A leading Am Law firm is looking for a hands-on, strategic Senior Business Development Manager to partner directly with Start-Up and Venture Capital leaders in driving client growth and market engagement.
This role sits side-by-side with high-performing partners, serving as a trusted advisor in managing client, referral, and investor networks while bringing insight, structure, and creative thinking to business development strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner closely with Start-Up/VC attorneys to manage and grow client and referral networks
• Maintain and leverage CRM data to track client, prospect, and marketing activity
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across scaling and high-growth companies
• Support speaking engagements, networking events, and entrepreneurial ecosystem involvement
• Prepare pitch materials, proposals, and prospect research
• Evaluate event ROI and market opportunities to prioritize strategic engagement
• Assist with funding referrals and screening of early-stage opportunities
• Support social media presence and targeted outreach initiatives
• Conduct pitch follow-ups and post-mortem analyses
Ideal Background:
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD a plus
• 10+ years of business development experience within a law firm, Big Four, or professional services environment
• Strong account management and relationship-building capabilities
• Experience supporting high-growth companies, venture capital, or technology sectors
• Advanced CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred)
• Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
