Overview

A leading international law firm is seeking an Energy & Infrastructure Associate to join its Middle East projects practice. The team advises sponsors, lenders and government authorities on complex infrastructure and energy projects across the region.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a 2–4 PQE associate looking to gain exposure to high-profile project development work while building experience across energy, infrastructure and project finance transactions within a collaborative international platform.

What You’ll Do

• Advise on all aspects of project development and delivery across infrastructure and energy projects.
• Draft and negotiate key project documentation including concession agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements and interface agreements.
• Conduct legal risk analysis and due diligence for major project transactions.
• Support project execution and coordinate with technical, financial and advisory teams.
• Work alongside senior lawyers and partners on complex regional infrastructure projects.
• Gain exposure to project finance transactions through collaboration with finance teams.

Key sectors include:
• Conventional and renewable power
• Desalination and wastewater
• Transport infrastructure
• Social infrastructure projects

About You

• 2–4 years’ PQE gained at a recognised international law firm.
• Experience advising on project development, energy, infrastructure, utilities or PPP transactions.
• Strong drafting skills and ability to manage key documentation with limited supervision.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.

Preferred experience:
• Exposure to Middle East energy or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with FIDIC-based documentation.
• Understanding of project finance structures.
• Experience working with technical and financial advisers.
