Overview

An elite US law firm is seeking a Competition Litigation Associate to join its growing London disputes platform. This is a high-quality, targeted search for a 2-4 PQE lawyer with genuine contentious competition experience and the technical grounding to contribute to complex, high-value matters from the outset.

The team operates with a lean structure, giving associates strong partner visibility, early responsibility and exposure to substantive litigation work. The role is well suited to an ambitious lawyer looking to build a specialist competition litigation profile within a leading international platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Work on complex competition litigation and contentious antitrust matters.
  • Advise on cartel damages claims, follow-on litigation, collective actions, behavioural investigations and abuse of dominance disputes.
  • Take on meaningful responsibility within a leanly staffed team.
  • Draft pleadings, submissions, correspondence and other key litigation documents.
  • Support partners on high-stakes disputes, including strategic case management and client-facing work.
  • Collaborate with associates and partners across the wider disputes and antitrust practices.

About You

  • Ideally 2-4 PQE, with flexibility for standout candidates slightly outside this range.
  • Strong competition litigation experience is essential.
  • Trained and retained at a Magic Circle, Silver Circle, elite US or comparable peer litigation platform.
  • Experience across cartel damages, follow-on claims, collective actions, behavioural investigations, abuse of dominance or wider contentious antitrust work.
  • Able to operate independently in a lean, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent academics and a strong technical litigation foundation.
  • Commercial litigation lawyers may be considered where they have meaningful competition litigation exposure.
  • Overseas-qualified candidates, particularly from Australia or New Zealand, may be considered where their experience is exceptional, although London market experience is strongly preferred.

Why Apply?

  • Join a growing competition litigation team within an elite US platform.
  • Gain direct partner access and significant responsibility from an early stage.
  • Work on complex, high-value contentious competition matters.
  • Benefit from leading US compensation and a competitive bonus structure.
  • Build a specialist competition litigation profile in a team with strong momentum and increasing workflow.
  • Progress in a platform that develops talent toward partnership without a traditional Counsel structure.
