
Overview
A leading international law firm is seeking a Restructuring Associate to join its London team. The firm’s global restructuring practice is widely recognised as a market leader, advising creditors, sponsors and corporates on complex restructurings, distressed situations and special situations transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a mid-level associate with 3–5 years’ PQE looking to join a growing and high-performing team working on sophisticated cross-border restructuring matters.
What You’ll Do
• Advise on complex restructuring and insolvency matters across domestic and cross-border mandates.
• Support distressed financings, liability management exercises and special situations transactions.
• Draft and negotiate restructuring documentation and related transaction materials.
• Work closely with finance, corporate and disputes teams on multi-disciplinary matters.
• Engage directly with clients and play a key role in managing transaction workstreams.
About You
• England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent common law qualification).
• 3–5 years’ PQE with restructuring, insolvency or relevant finance experience gained at a leading law firm.
• Background gained at a top-tier international, Magic Circle or US firm preferred.
• Strong technical ability and understanding of restructuring processes and financing structures.
• Commercially minded with strong organisational and communication skills.
• Motivated to develop within a collaborative and fast-paced practice.
Salary & Bonus
• Competitive US market-aligned compensation (NQ reference salary approximately £165,000).
• Salary progression aligned with PQE level (indicative range £191,000–£266,500).
• Performance-related bonus structure with enhanced bonus potential linked to productivity.
• Typical utilisation expectations around 1,800 hours annually.
