Overview

A leading US law firm is seeking a junior Leveraged Finance Associate to join its busy London finance team. The practice advises private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, banks and financial institutions on complex cross-border financings across the capital structure.

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing leveraged finance team with strong deal flow and exposure to sophisticated acquisition finance, leveraged lending, infrastructure finance, fund finance, corporate finance and restructuring-related matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise on leveraged and acquisition finance transactions for sponsors, borrowers and lenders.
  • Work on complex cross-border financings linked to M&A and wider corporate activity.
  • Assist with commitment papers, loan agreements, intercreditor documentation and related finance documents.
  • Develop experience across highly leveraged capital structures and leveraged loan products.
  • Support transactions involving English law security and broader financing arrangements.
  • Work closely with partners, counsel and international teams on fast-moving mandates.

About You

  • 1-3 PQE with relevant leveraged finance experience.
  • Experience gained in the London market or a comparable common law jurisdiction.
  • Strong transactional background and practical exposure to finance deals.
  • Developing technical understanding of leveraged finance structures and documentation.
  • Collaborative, proactive and comfortable working in a busy, demanding team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Exposure to infrastructure finance would be advantageous but is not essential.
