Leveraged Finance Associate (Mid-Senior Level)

Overview

A leading US law firm is looking for a Leveraged Finance Associate to join its growing finance practice. The team advises on a wide range of sponsor-driven leveraged financings, including private equity acquisition finance and private credit transactions.

This role sits within a highly active practice acting for both lenders and borrowers, offering associates exposure to sophisticated transactions and complex financing structures. The firm is looking for a plug-and-play candidate with strong, dedicated leveraged finance experience who can integrate quickly into a busy deal environment.

What You’ll Do

• Advise sponsors, private credit funds and financial institutions on leveraged and acquisition financings.
• Support private equity finance transactions across a range of deal structures.
• Work on private credit financings and syndicated loan transactions.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, intercreditor arrangements and related financing documentation.
• Work closely with partners and senior lawyers on complex sponsor-led transactions.
• Manage deal workstreams and support transactions through signing and closing.

About You

• Qualified associate with strong leveraged finance experience.
• Mid-level candidates preferred, though strong senior associates will also be considered.
• Minimum class year: 2023.
• Experience working on private equity or private credit financing transactions.
• Strong technical drafting and transaction management skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced transactional environment.

• Candidates must be plug-and-play with dedicated leveraged finance experience.
• The team is not considering candidates looking to re-tool from other finance areas.
• Candidates from adjacent practices (e.g. shipping finance or other niche finance groups) will not be considered.

Candidate Profile

• Strong preference for candidates trained at elite US law firms with recognised leveraged finance practices.
• Experience from firms with established leveraged finance benches is highly valued.
