Leveraged Finance Associate

Overview

An elite US law firm is seeking a high-calibre Leveraged Finance Associate to join its London team. The successful candidate will advise on complex leveraged finance transactions, working closely with private equity sponsors, financial institutions and alternative lenders on high-profile, often cross-border deals.

This opportunity is well suited to an associate with 3–8 years’ PQE who is looking to develop their practice within a top-tier US leveraged finance platform, offering exposure to sophisticated transactions, strong client access and excellent long-term progression prospects.

What You’ll Do

• Advise on a wide range of leveraged finance transactions, including acquisition financings, refinancings and recapitalisations.
• Act for private equity sponsors, borrowers, banks, direct lenders and credit funds on complex financing structures.
• Draft, review and negotiate leveraged finance documentation, including facilities agreements, intercreditor arrangements and security packages.
• Support clients throughout the full lifecycle of transactions, from structuring through to execution and closing.
• Work closely with colleagues across private equity, restructuring, capital markets, tax and regulatory teams.
• Manage workstreams with increasing autonomy and responsibility.
• Assist with business development initiatives and help maintain strong client relationships.

About You

• England & Wales qualified solicitor.
• 3–8 years’ PQE with leveraged finance experience gained at a leading US or international law firm.
• Strong academic background from a reputable institution.
• Excellent technical skills and experience handling complex leveraged finance documentation.
• Commercially minded, proactive and confident working on fast-paced transactions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to thrive in a high-intensity, deal-driven environment.
