Overview

This well-known, global law firm is looking for an IP Litigation Associate to join its intellectual property disputes practice. The team handles high-stakes patent, trade secret, copyright, and technology-related litigation for leading companies across the technology, life sciences, energy, and manufacturing sectors.

This role offers substantial courtroom exposure, sophisticated litigation work, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced trial lawyers on complex disputes in federal courts and administrative forums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of intellectual property litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and case strategy memoranda
  • Conduct legal and technical research related to patent and technology disputes
  • Prepare and defend fact and expert witnesses
  • Coordinate with technical experts and consultants on case development
  • Handle matters before federal district courts, the ITC, and PTAB proceedings where applicable
  • Participate in client counseling regarding litigation risk and IP strategy

Qualifications

  • J.D. from a top-ranked law school with strong academic credentials
  • 3–6 years’ IP litigation experience at a leading law firm
  • Technical degree in engineering, computer science, biology, chemistry, or related field preferred
  • Experience with patent litigation and complex commercial disputes strongly preferred
  • Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills
  • Admission to the applicable state bar
