Overview
A leading independent UK law firm is expanding its Corporate Tax practice and is interested in speaking with experienced tax lawyers at Senior Associate level. An appointment as Legal Director may be available for an established candidate with the appropriate experience and business case.
This is a flexible growth hire rather than a replacement role or time-sensitive vacancy. The team advises major corporate groups, financial institutions, investment funds and public-sector bodies on UK tax matters arising from transactions and complex commercial structures.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide UK tax advice on corporate transactions and commercial structures.
  • Work with major businesses, financial institutions, funds and public bodies.
  • Collaborate with corporate, finance and other specialist teams on multidisciplinary matters.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Corporate Tax practice.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and support the development of junior lawyers.
  • At Legal Director level, take greater responsibility for client development, revenue generation and the team’s strategic growth.
About You
  • An experienced Corporate Tax lawyer, typically with at least four years’ PQE and the credentials to operate at Senior Associate level or above.
  • Strong technical experience gained within a respected City, national, in-house or accountancy-led advisory practice.
  • A predominantly advisory background if applying from an accountancy firm.
  • Commercially astute, collaborative and confident managing complex tax matters.
  • Interested in combining high-quality work with credible long-term progression.
  • Able to contribute to business development and client relationships, particularly if seeking appointment as Legal Director.

Why Apply?
  • High-quality Corporate Tax work for a sophisticated client base.
  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced and highly regarded tax specialists.
  • Exposure to complementary areas including international tax, private wealth and private client work.
  • A collaborative and supportive team with an emphasis on practical flexibility.
  • A 35-hour contracted working week, with standard hours of 9.15am–5.15pm.
  • Hybrid working, typically requiring office attendance two or three days each week.
  • Potential for additional flexibility in exceptional circumstances.
  • Clear progression at Senior Associate level, with a possible Legal Director route for candidates ready to assume broader leadership responsibilities.
  • A joining bonus may be available.
The Senior Associate process ordinarily involves at least two partner interviews. Legal Director candidates should expect a more detailed process, including board approval and the preparation and presentation of a three-year business plan.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Corporate Tax specialists seeking excellent work, greater flexibility and a genuine opportunity to help shape a growing practice.
