An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Associate to join a highly regarded US law firm in either its Nashville or Chicago office.

The successful candidate will join an established Corporate and Securities practice, working primarily on sophisticated mergers and acquisitions. The team advises public and private companies, private equity firms and their portfolio businesses on a broad range of domestic and cross-border corporate transactions.

The role
  • Advise on complex mergers, acquisitions and disposals
  • Represent private equity firms, portfolio companies and other private businesses
  • Support public companies on a range of corporate and securities matters
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents
  • Coordinate due diligence and manage key stages of the transaction process
  • Work closely with partners, clients and colleagues across multiple practice areas
  • Take increasing responsibility for running transactions as experience develops
Candidate profile
  • At least two years’ post-qualification corporate experience
  • Strong experience in sophisticated M&A transactions
  • Experience representing private equity firms, private companies or public companies
  • SEC reporting, capital markets or corporate governance experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active licence in good standing in a US jurisdiction
The firm is open to candidates at different levels of seniority. More experienced associates who can take responsibility for managing transactions will be particularly well suited to the Chicago opportunity.
The firm operates a hybrid working model, with associates typically attending the office three days a week.

Salary range is $260k–$435k. Nashville compensation is dependent on experience. The firm also offers a performance-related bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance.
