An exciting opportunity has arisen for an associate to join the M&A and Private Equity practice of a leading international law firm in Houston.
The successful candidate will work on a strong pipeline of sophisticated public and private M&A and private equity transactions. The practice also offers exposure to energy-related work, although previous energy-sector experience is not required.
The role
- Advise public and private companies on complex mergers and acquisitions
- Represent private equity firms and their portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle
- Draft, review and negotiate transaction documents
- Coordinate due diligence and manage key stages of transactions
- Work closely with clients, partners and colleagues across related corporate practices
- Take increasing responsibility for managing transactions and junior team members
- Support energy-related transactions where relevant
Candidate profile
- Approximately 2–6 years’ relevant corporate experience
- Strong M&A and/or private equity experience gained at a recognised law firm
- Experience advising public companies would be advantageous
- Energy-sector experience is welcome but not essential
- Excellent drafting, analytical and transaction-management skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Confident managing multiple workstreams within fast-moving transactions
- Admitted to practise in Texas, or eligible to become admitted
