Competition/Antitrust Associate (Brussels)

Overview

A large international law firm is seeking an ambitious Competition/Antitrust Associate with 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience to join its market-leading Brussels office. The successful candidate will work on some of the world’s most complex and high-profile antitrust, competition, and trade law matters, many of which are cross-border or global, while contributing to the success of the wider Antitrust, Competition, and Trade (ACT) team through business development and knowledge management initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Advise clients on competition, regulatory, and trade law issues across a variety of sectors.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction and other commercial contract documents.
• Prepare submissions to competition authorities and courts.
• Manage transactions and client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Participate in business development initiatives and client events.
• Train, mentor, and supervise trainees and junior lawyers.

About You

• Qualified lawyer with 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience.
• Strong academic background, preferably including an LL.M.
• Prior experience or strong interest in competition and trade law.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in French is an asset.
• Motivated, solution-oriented, and capable of managing significant responsibility and workload.
• Willingness to relocate to Brussels.
