Overview

A premier international AmLaw firm with a global footprint across the United States, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East is seeking an accomplished Specialist Litigation Paralegal to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role is designed for a seasoned litigation professional who brings deep procedural expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate at the highest levels of sophisticated legal practice. The Specialist Paralegal plays a critical role across the full litigation lifecycle, serving as a trusted partner to attorneys and case teams. This role will sit hybrid in D.C.
 

What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality litigation support in a cost-effective manner consistent with professional billing standards and a target of 1,725 billable hours annually
• Apply advanced knowledge of litigation procedures to coordinate, organize, prepare, and analyze complex legal documents under attorney supervision
• Organize, review, and maintain extensive case files and document databases; prepare and compile materials for filing with courts and agencies
• Manage and coordinate document productions and conduct targeted searches within e-discovery platforms (including Relativity)
• Support deposition preparation, including document organization and logistical coordination
• Perform factual and legal research using internal systems and external research platforms
• Format, cite-check, proofread, and edit legal briefs and motions in accordance with Bluebook and/or California Style Manual standards
• Assist with electronic and physical filing of briefs, motions, and related pleadings
• Coordinate comprehensive trial and arbitration preparation; attend proceedings and provide on-site or remote courtroom support
• Manage trial logistics, including travel arrangements and local or virtual setup
• Support multiple active matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate closely with internal departments and external vendors to streamline workflows and improve processes
• Work overtime and travel as required; assist with additional projects as assigned

About You

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program (preferred)
• Minimum of 10 years of litigation paralegal experience (required)
• Demonstrated arbitration and trial experience (required)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and document comparison tools
• Advanced proficiency in web-based conferencing and collaboration platforms
• Extensive experience with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
• Strong command of PACER, CM/ECF, and other electronic court and agency filing systems
• Advanced understanding of litigation terminology, procedures, and jurisdictional requirements
• Experience with timekeeping, expense reporting, and legal billing processes
