Overview

A leading international law firm is seeking a Projects Senior Associate or Counsel to join its Riyadh office. This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the region’s top-ranked projects practices, advising on complex, high-profile transactions across the infrastructure and energy sectors.

About the Role

The Riyadh projects team advises governments, sponsors, investors, and lenders on market-defining infrastructure and development projects across the Middle East. The practice spans PPP, privatisations, project finance, and construction (EPC), with exposure to both social and economic infrastructure projects.

This senior-level role is ideal for a lawyer with a balanced background across projects, construction, and corporate/commercial matters who is looking to work autonomously on sophisticated cross-border transactions in a dynamic, high-performing team.

What You’ll Do

  • Advising clients on major projects across a range of sectors, including infrastructure, utilities, transport, and energy.
  • Leading on EPC and other construction-related contracts and negotiations.
  • Acting on joint ventures, M&A, and broader corporate/commercial arrangements within the projects space.
  • Advising on regulatory and transactional aspects of PPP and privatisation projects.
  • Managing transactions from end to end, working closely with partners and clients.
  • Mentoring junior associates and contributing to business development initiatives.

About You

  • 5+ years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) gained at a leading international or tier-one law firm.
  • Strong experience across construction (EPC) matters (typically 20–60% of your experience), coupled with exposure to corporate/commercial and regulatory projects work.
  • Demonstrated experience working on PPP, privatisation, or major infrastructure projects.
  • A strong academic background (minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to lead deals and operate autonomously.
  • Experience gained in London, Europe, Asia, or Australasia preferred, though not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage confidently with international clients and government stakeholders.
  • Preferably, you will be a Saudi National.

Why Apply?

  • Join a market-leading projects team recognised for advising on the region’s most significant transactions.
  • Take on lead responsibility in major deals with substantial client exposure.
  • Work alongside top-tier partners in a collaborative, international environment.
  • Enjoy exceptional career progression with clear pathways to partnership.
  • Access a competitive, tax-efficient salary and the benefits of life in Riyadh’s rapidly growing legal market.

The Process

  • Typically involves two interview stages with partners, followed by a potential final discussion with the office managing partner.
