About the Role

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Associate (1–4 PQE) to join one of London’s most distinctive international energy law firms. Renowned for its specialist focus and market-leading expertise, the firm advises on some of the most complex and high-value energy transactions globally, offering associates the chance to develop deep sector expertise while working on sophisticated cross-border matters.

This role sits within a highly regarded Corporate team that advises on M&A, joint ventures, restructurings, corporate financings and strategic investments across the global energy sector, with particular strength in oil and gas. The team works closely with clients across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the United States, providing exposure to complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions from day one.

The Firm

The firm occupies a unique position in the legal market as the only London-based law firm exclusively focused on energy transactions, finance, projects and disputes. This specialist platform enables lawyers to develop unparalleled industry knowledge while advising a diverse client base that includes major energy companies, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, developers and government entities.

The firm’s expertise spans the full energy value chain, with particular recognition for its work in upstream oil and gas, energy finance, LNG development and infrastructure projects. Alongside its established hydrocarbons practice, the firm is increasingly active across energy transition and renewable energy mandates.

Recognised by Chambers Global 2026 as a leading international energy practice, the firm holds Band 1 rankings in both USA: Energy: Oil & Gas and UK: Energy & Natural Resources: Oil & Gas, reflecting its reputation for handling complex cross-border energy matters.

The Team

The Corporate team is known for its collaborative and entrepreneurial culture. Associates work directly with partners across a broad range of matters rather than operating within rigid partner silos, creating excellent opportunities for responsibility, development and client exposure.

The environment is commercially focused, team-oriented and supportive, with a strong emphasis on personality fit, collaboration and long-term career progression.

The Work

Associates can expect to advise on:

  • Cross-border mergers, acquisitions and disposals within the energy sector
  • Joint ventures and strategic investments
  • Corporate restructurings and reorganisations
  • Project-related corporate structures and investments
  • Transactions involving sovereign wealth funds, state-owned entities and government counterparties
  • Multi-jurisdictional deals across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America
  • Emerging energy transition and renewable energy projects

The work is varied, international and often highly complex, providing lawyers with significant responsibility and the opportunity to develop strong commercial judgement early in their careers.

Why Join?

This opportunity offers market-leading remuneration, with compensation aligned to leading US firm salary levels while providing a more collaborative and less hierarchical working environment.

Lawyers benefit from:

  • Premium compensation (£158,000–£171,000)
  • High-profile international transactions
  • Direct client and partner exposure
  • Genuine responsibility from an early stage
  • A highly collegiate and supportive culture
  • Exposure to one of the world’s most specialised energy practices
  • Strong long-term career development opportunities

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • 1–4 years’ PQE gained within a leading UK, US or international law firm
  • Strong corporate transactional experience, including M&A and general corporate matters
  • Experience working on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions
  • Exposure to the energy sector, particularly oil and gas, or a demonstrable interest in developing a specialist energy practice
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and project management skills
