Overview

A leading Magic Circle law firm is seeking a Competition Associate to join its top-tier London competition practice. The team is widely recognised for its strength in complex merger control, antitrust investigations and high-profile cross-border matters.

This role is focused on maintaining team depth within a high-performing practice and is ideally suited to a 2–3 PQE associate with strong merger control experience gained at a leading competition firm.

What You’ll Do

• Advise on UK and EU merger control filings and related regulatory strategy.
• Support complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions requiring coordinated antitrust approvals.
• Work closely with corporate and M&A teams on competition aspects of major transactions.
• Assist on behavioural and structural remedy negotiations where required.
• Engage with regulators and manage regulatory timetables as part of transaction execution.

.About You

• England & Wales qualified solicitor (other common law qualifications considered).
• 2–3 years’ PQE with strong merger control experience gained at a top-tier competition practice.
• Solid understanding of UK and EU competition regimes.
• Experience advising on cross-border transactions.
• Technically strong, commercially aware and confident managing workstreams.
• Motivated to operate within a high-performance, elite environment.
