Collections Specialist

A prestigious Am Law firm is seeking a Collections Specialist to support its Billing & Collections team. Responsible for managing a portfolio of client accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances. This role works closely with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate records of collection activities.

This role will be hybrid and can be located in SF, Silicon Valley, Santa Monica, Seatttle, D.C., NYC, or Boston.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned client accounts and follow up on overdue invoices.
• Communicate with clients regarding past-due balances and payment resolutions.
• Collaborate with attorneys and internal teams to support collection efforts.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account questions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities and account status updates.
• Monitor aging reports and identify accounts requiring follow-up or escalation.
• Prepare collections reports and provide regular account updates.
• Follow established collections procedures and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years of collections experience in a law firm environment.
• Experience managing attorney portfolios, aged receivables, billing and collections systems, and reporting tools.
• Strong knowledge of collections practices, account follow-up, and payment resolution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
